CNC Machine Tool Holders: Types and Uses
CNC machines or Computer Numerically Controlled Machines are
electrical devices that can manipulate tools around a varying number of axis
usually 3 or 5 with high precision instructions from a computer program. CNC
machining is one of the best technique using which engineers, machinists can
manufacture parts/tools using a uniform pattern of computer design file, though
times are changing, and the world is moving onto 3D printing, but they are not
a most economical when put into production. Hence, CNC machine and tools are
the best option to select when manufacturing in a highly price sensitive
country like India.
CNC machine tools are mounted on the mouth of the machine
where it serves the purpose of removing the additional material by milling,
scrapping, sanding the solid object. A
tool holder is a short steel bar having a shank at one end by which it is
clamped to a machine and a clamp on the other hand to hold small
interchangeable bits.
A CNC machine tool holder is made up of mainly identifiable 2
sections.
1.
Tool Entry Hole
2.
Taper for Machine
There are many types of CNC machine tool holders, these have
separate functions and are used differently.
VDI Blanks: VDI series tool holders are suitable for use on
mill turn machines and turning sensors with dual spindles/turrets. The tool
holder is fixed using a master pin. They include a hole for liquid cooling for
processes where cooling of process is required.
Boring Bar Tools: CNC machine tool holder manufacturers use
a boring bar to drill a hole inside a solid block. The advantage of using
boring bar CNC machine tool holder is that you can bore a hole of any size.
These can be used in applications where no premade template is available. A CNC
machine with boring bar tool can be used to create holes of different shape and
sizes.
Face Milling: These are used to cut the face of the object at
a fast pace. The tools used are about 70% harder than the raw material.
Morse Tapers: These are mainly used in spindles or drill
presses. Tools with morse tapers can also be used in other machines with the
use of adapters and special purpose fixtures.
Engineering companies in India are using more and more CNC
machines and with it, manufacturers and suppliers are growing exponentially. Having
said that, one thing needs to be kept into consideration and that’s Quality.
Manufacturers who are ISO certified should be preferred over others as they
have uniform operation process defined as their standard operating procedure.Sawhney Engineering is an ISO 9001:2008 certified company and is a leading
manufacturer and supplier of CNC machine tool holders. Just click on the link

your requirements.
The blog clearly explains the types and uses of CNC machines. Thank you.
